09 Crew Chief

My first racing experience was at Riverhead Raceway.  My mother was a big race fan and would attend every week.  When I was 8 years old I remember going in the pits and meeting the drivers after the races.  That was the thing I remember most.

The driver I was most impressed with at that time was Greg Sacks in the yellow #18 figure 8 division.

I became involved as a participant in “A Run What You Brung Event.”At fourteen years old my brother was going to drive.  I wanted to, but, was too young, so I helped prepare and fibbed about my birth date to get into the pit area for that event.  A long-term addiction was born.  I was able to drive in the Charger Division, at Riverhead, from 1984-88.  First #61 then later after Richie Evans died #28.

I was a very competitive person as a driver/owner and eventually was asked to leave and fined $500.00.  Because I had a strong background in fabricating and welding and was temporarily side lined, I began to repair and build cars for other competitors.  I started to work more on handling and set up and started helping Peggy Smith who began running better at Riverhead Raceway.

At the end of the 2000 season, Ed Partridge, from T. S. Motorsports approached me about joining his tour team.  Ed hired me full time to manage his shop operation.  I’ve always worked with under funded race teams.  This opportunity gives me the chance to showcase a well-funded professions effort.  I’m excited about the 2001 season and the possibilities that exist.

Hang on tight !!
