08 Crew

My first memory of racing was at 13 when some friends and me went to Riverhead Raceway looking for something to do on a Saturday night. Going to the track that night would change my life forever. The Blunderbust and Modified divisions caught my eye the most and I new I loved racing. Freddy Harbach is who I always rooted for. He was an aggressive driver and I found him exciting to watch. Going into the pit area to meet him was a surprise; he was actually a really nice guy. Things have changed for me over the years; I’m on the other side of the fence now, working on the cars. During my years in racing, I’ve worked on many different cars, but I always made sure I was there to help Ken Heagy, when he needed it. My happiest racing memory was when Ken Heagy took his first warm up lap after being sidelined for two years. It was a great sense of accomplishment, to see his car go around the track again. As always with the good, comes the bad. My worst memory of racing was when we had to change Kenny’s motor the night the Modified Tour was at Riverhead. We discovered there was a problem with the motor after time trial and were left with one hour to swap motors. We got the job done and Kenny made the race, but it was a lot of work. Looking back on it now, it’s actually pretty funny. I’m an all around mechanic; I’ll do anything that needs to be done so we can go racing. It’s a lot of hard work, but it also requires total commitment. You’ll never win races without a lot of effort, and that all starts in the shop. I met Eddie Partridge, of TS Motorsports through Ken Heagy and began working with the team. I spent 2000 supporting Kenny’s Riverhead effort, as well as lending a hand to his teammate, Mike Curtis. My outlook for the 2001 season is to win a few races and have a lot of fun while doing it. A top ten finish for any of the drivers wouldn’t hurt my feelings either! See you at the track,

Scott
