Team Owner

At nine years old Billy Amond and I started going to Riverhead Raceway. My dad was an owner/operator and worked for Northville Industries hauling fuel oils and black oils. A few years went by and at the age of fourteen I met Charlie Jarzombek for the first time when he came to work for my father who had several trucks leased on to Northville. On Monday Charlie went to work and by Tuesday I had joined his pit crew. We raced Islip, Riverhead and Freeport and also traveled the All-Star Racing league, which consisted of tracks in the northeast and Pennsylvania asphalt and dirt tracks. I stayed with him until he went with the Wilsberg race team in 1984. At that time I bought my own SK Modified and participated in that series for 2 years.

In 1987 I returned to Jarzombek and the Wilsberg race team. Billy Amond and I owned the cars and Wilsberg supplied the motors and the shop. When on March 22,1987, it all came to an abrupt end when Charlie lost his life at Martinsville speedway, while racing in the first race of the 87 nascar Modified season.

After 10 years I was approached by Ricky Jarzombek and asked to become part of the Long Island based Nascar Craftsman Truck team, where we hired Mike Ewanitsko to drive. My part of the deal was to supply the tractor- trailer and Hauler which I did. We were unable to secure a sponsor therefore disbursing the team. I sold my tractor-trailer to Gary Cretty Motorsports.

At the end of the 1998 season I purchased a 1997 Troyer Pontiac from Gary Cretty and raced at Riverhead Raceway and went to a few tour shows.

In 1999 we started up again with a limited tour and a full Riverhead schedule until present with driver Mike Curtis. I sponsored Ken Heagy's Mod as well as Ed Densieski and the LaTour family Quarter Midget team in 2000.

In 2001,I will be primary sponsor for Ken Heagy, car owner of the 07 driven by Mike Curtis. And I've committed to a full schedule with veteran driver Bo Gunning on the Nascar Featherlite Modified Tour campaining the #09.

You may pay for the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge at the races this year.
